I've heard it said on more than one occasion that we, as teenagers, have an impact we can make that no other generation can. On a personal basis, no one can do what you can potentially accomplish. So, there are things that you can do NOW that you can't do when you're older. We must take advantage of this time and proclaim Him to the best of our ability.

You came at a most challenging time, Yet your arrival brought forth much joy. It was love at first sight. That early September morning you came into this world, and I held you for the very first time, you had my heart from then on. You are one of my favorite men in the world, and always will be. From your first day, to now, your first day of pre-school, you have just gotten cuter, and cuter. From every moment, I have been there, with a camera in my hand, falling more in love with you through each passing day. Psalms 12.1
HELP, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men. Often, I think we look around and see the casualties of this war. The godly man is no more. Faithfulness is no longer in existence. I won’t, but I could show picture after picture of godly men, women, and teens I respected and looked up to that have disappointing me, and failed; running from God and in defiance of all they have been taught, or have taught me. One, We need His help! With all who have gone before us and fallen from the narrow way, we need His help! If we are going to faithful, we need Him! If we are going to anything; if we are going to make it, we need Him! Second, as we see others fall and fail, or turn from God, we feel as though we are the only one trying to do right. We are the only one left. But as it was told to Elijah in 1 Kings 19.18, "Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him." We are never the only one, there is always someone else. However, even if we were there only one standing, we should anyway. I went out on a trip to western Kansas with my family last month to see one of my mom's best friends. This family has adopted two children (one of which passed away from SIDS two years ago), and has had one child of their own, all of which are boys. They also provide respite for foster families, and babysit another family's children. At the time we arrived, there was a total of seven kids in the house, not including ourselves. During the rest of the time there, aside from my siblings and I, there were five kids. 9(?), 7, 5, 4, and 1. I kept track of the two youngest, Tegan and Luke. :)
Life In Focus. Those words echo loudly through my mind. Is it simply the basis of a business name, which I love; a cute catch phrase, or something more?
How would your life look if you poured yourself into the pages of your Bible, instead of the pages of Facebook? Are you more concerned with what's happening on Facebook than what's going on in a church service? What if everyone treated their Bible like they treat their cell phones?
What if we carried it around in our purses and pockets? What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it? What if we flipped through it several times a day? What if we anxiously waited for a message? What if we jumped at the thought of receiving something from it? What if we used it to receive messages from a text? What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it? What if we gave it to kids as gifts? What if we used it as we traveled? What if we used it in case of an emergency? What if we used it constantly? What if we used it during a church service???????? What if we wouldn't know what to do without it? What if we always knew where it was? What if we used it every waking moment? What if we shared it with our friends? Girls With Swords Many thoughts follow that phrase.
For some, mainly men, a sense of fear (Just kidding, although.) For others, a sense of courage. Still, for others, maybe it sparks a picture of the feminist movement. I see Rapunzel. |
