Baby Yoda and bright dahlia flowers. Farmer’s markets and fields of wild flowers. Berries and lemons. Cozy beds and long naps. Rain and gentle storms. Hot tea, writing, and photography. Online shopping, baking, cool nights and Christmas lights. Tacos, salsa, the smell of gunpowder and fresh homemade bread. Music, home-cooking and date nights. Spending time with my favorite teenagers. A clean house, sleeping baby, and calm puppy. These are a few of my favorite things. These things make me happy. But I don’t want to just be happy.

I remember Hebrews class with Bro. Rick Williams in college very vividly. Probably one of my favorite, and THE most impactful classes for me personally.
I recall studying and outlining the book of Hebrews which stretched me immensely. Among the projects to complete was a paper that was essentially an evaluation of your own heart; your own faith. If we TRULY had faith, would our dreams and goals be so small? If we truly believed that God could work miracles and do amazing things with lives, wouldn’t we pray bigger, serve harder, and give more? I wrote a figurative story; a “by faith” story of what my mind thought God might do with my life “someday”. Then, you read that and realize how impossible those things seemed. Yet it doesn’t even scratch the surface of what He can do! At that was the point. Y’all, we have such small faith! He can do so much more above what we ask or think. His ways and thoughts are so much higher than what we can comprehend. (Now, this practice was not one to attempt and write out what you thought He should do in your life, but to visually demonstrate faith.) While cleaning up a few pages on here, I am editing (and essentially removing) the bio page. Before I do so, I decided to share it. If nothing else, as a welcome and introduction for all the new visitors to the site lately.
I recall another moment while we were traveling in South Dakota last month. Jack was ordering presidential ice cream and coffee, while I was waiting at the end of the counter with Jaelynn in the stroller. Jaelynn caught the lady at the counters eye and she began to work to get the baby’s attention. Jaelynn was not about giving this lady any response. Even the adjusting of the stroller resulted in the turn of her head. Jaelynn continued to look at me at refused to acknowledge this other lady.
