At any given point, one of two things is ruling your heart. Both can not exist without conflict; they cannot coincide. Being opposites, you must chose between the two which one you allow to control you. Either faith or fear will be prominent. If we truly have faith in God and are trusting Him in each circumstance, fear will fade away, because both cannot exist in your heart. You cannot have total faith and be fearful at the same time. Studying this subject on a personal basis really brought comfort to my heart and, honestly, I can add nothing to it. So, I will simply allow His words do all the talking.
FEAR IS NOT OF GOD "But without faith it is impossible to please him..." (Hebrews 11.6) "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." (2 Timothy 1.7) " ...for whatsoever is not of faith is sin." (Romans 14.23) FAITH IS NOT LOGICAL "That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God." (1 Corinthians 2.5) "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding." (Proverbs 3.5) "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." (Hebrews 11.1) "(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)" (2 Corinthians 5.7) FAITH OR FEAR? "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." (Matthew 6.24) FAITH IN HIM BRINGS PEACE "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." (Isaiah 26.3) "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." (John 14.27) "And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4.7) FAITH IN HIM BRINGS PATIENCE "Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience." (James 1.3) FAITH IN HIM REMINDS US OF HIS PRESENCE "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." (Isaiah 41.10) "Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go before thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee." (Deuteronomy 31.6)
