In the following picture, I was accused of being a ‘guy’. Some people tell me I look just like my little brother (middle), but in this case, I believe it was the way my hair was done. It appears as though my hair is cut short. The first day of the fair this year, a young kid around six hung around the barn a lot. Short hair, jeans and a t-shirt. It really seemed to me, and others, that this child was a little boy. However, to our surprise, the next day, this child showed up in pink, and it was then that we realized that this kid was actually a GIRL! How many times have you second-guesses yourself on whether to refer to someone as a ‘Ma’am’ or ‘Sir’. How often do you see someone on the street, and struggle to determine if they are a boy or a girl. The clothes, the hair... it could go either way. The other day, my little brother and I walked passed a certain person in walmart multiple times for the sole purpose of determining whether they were a girl or a guy..... the result was undecided. The Bible says, in 1 Corinthians 11:14, “Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for covering.” It also says in Matthew 10:30 that ”..the very hairs of your head are numbered.” - God cares about everything...... every detail.... down to your hair. I don't have a problem, necessarily with short hair, at times, I love it! But when it comes to the point that it causes this problem, usually with the help of how you dress as well, I do have a problem with it. Don’t force someone to struggle trying to determine who you are, don’t even make them have to take a second look........ make it easy on them! :)
