WHY CAN'T I? Why can't I live beyond this grief? Why can't I seem to find relief? Why can't I feel Your warm embrace? Why can't I seek Your face? Why can't I feel Your tender touch? Why can't I simply trust? Why can't I seem to hear Your voice? Why can't I sing or rejoice? Why can't I pray, why can't I read? Why can't I love, why can't I sleep? Why can't I find a place to hide? Why can't I push all fear aside? Why can't I see the rising sun? Why can't I say, "Your will be done"? Why can't I joy within my soul? Why can't I feel You're in control? Why can't I rest in this sorrow? Why can't I find hope for tomorrow? Why can't I? Why? -Anonymous Have you ever asked God “Why?”
I have…many, many times. And you know what?...He has always answered my “ whys ” … in His time. I have asked God many questions…questions like: . . .What’s next? . . .What is your will for me? . . .What do you want me to do? . . .What’s your BEST? . . .Why did you allow this? . . .Where do you want me? . . .What are you trying to say to me? . . .When you see me, are you pleased with what you see? ...Where are you? ...What is the purpose for all this? Asking questions is good. I realize that more times than naught, I have asked those types of questions when times were hard, uncomfortable, challenging, or just when I didn't know what to do or where to turn. He has always been there for me when I have asked questions! Always! It’s in times like these that I get focused on that one particular situation and I don’t see or grasp the bigger picture that God sees. It’s like zooming in on a photo and focusing on a few pixels. Just that part of the picture will seem fuzzy, out of focus, and it just won’t make any sense! But if I were to merely step back and see that part of the picture included in the whole, I would see the beauty of that part in the picture in its entirety! God allows the hardships, difficulties, and the “unknowns” as merely parts of a picture that unfold over time to reveal His beautiful story in and through our lives! He is painting a story! And it’s beautiful! Will you and I trust Him, as the Master Artist, that those fuzzy or out of focus spots in our lives are really a part of a master work! We may not see it clearly until we get to Heaven, but for now, all He asks of us is to trust Him. "For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your reward. " Isaiah 52:12
