We've heard so much about 2020 being a year of craziness. In fact, it is now synonymous. So many can't wait for the year to be over. As if the moment the year turns all the troubles of the world will be gone. They want to forget this year even existed. After all, it has caused nothing but problems, right? I for one don't want to forget this year or what it has taught us.
There have been so many things it has taught me, and many ways I have grown. I don't want to throw that away. I am confident that if you considered it, you would find many positive ways in your own life. So while we are asking, what have been some of the most precious moments of this year? J A E L Y N N - Obviously for me, would be Jae. She has taught me so much in the few months she's existed. From our first day of snuggles, her big smiles in the morning, or the way she giggles at anything and everything her daddy does. She has taught me with her full dependence on me, about my great need for full dependence on my Heavenly Father. J A C K - Some extra time with my best friend, how can that ever be bad? The gift of COVID gave us some uninterrupted, restful, quality family time. Watching him grow as a dad and the love our little girl has for him already has been so sweet. P R O V I S I O N - The past few years have purged my heart from a hold on physical things. So many moves and living out of boxes and/or storage quickly teaches you that life often comes with too much and/or unnecessary items. It deeper reinforces what needs truly are. Then to watch the Lord provide for those needs over and over again, even when you had no idea how it was going to be taken care of. Then, He goes above that and gives you the things on your heart that aren't even really "needs". The are many specific examples from this past year that could be given. T E E N S - There are SO many things I'd love to share about our time that can't be. Not yet. Often the thoughts of my heart get placed into "the red book" and await that time because God has been so good and gracious! Among those precious moments would be Lots'a Pasta, the salvation and baptism of two of the teens, being able to watch many of them grow, the seemingly unintentional conversations, the moments we've been able to spend with them over snowcones or ice cream, or being able to offer our presence at their plays, concerts, or performances. Not exclusively to teens, but I have enjoyed watching the faithfulness and the willingness to serve of His people. From the way they served seamlessly at the youth rally to the youngest little helper eagerly offering to help feed Jaelynn. V A C A T I O N - The experience of traveling hundreds of miles across seven states as a family of three was a blast. We were able to see so much of God's awe-inspiring creation. Jae got her first swim among many others. F E D E X - Within the first week we moved here I quickly realized that if someone messes with my husband, that sparks a fire in me I didn't know existed. Though you often have to stand aside and just watch as your husband is hurt, the contrast is also true. Though G&P Deliveries is just a means of provision, they have displayed genuine acts of care, comradery, and teamwork. From the second-hand view I receive, it has been a comfort to watch. Precious moments, such as with our vehicle, have been an encouragement to my heart. So there you have it. Just a few surface examples of the precious moments 2020 has brought that I wouldn't wish away. Share your favorites below. This is the Lord's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes. - Psalm 118.23 *Any inappropriate, rude, or vulgar comments will be deleted*
