So, 4a.m. and I meet it this way again. There's been no sleep so far, so I thought, why not get on this? We're eleven days into the new year. There's a question I must ask... How well are you still on track with your New Years resolutions? We're not two weeks into it and I bet most of y'all have already gone AWOL in your determination to accomplish whatever it was. I don't typically do resolutions, because, at least for me, it's pointless cause they never stick. Will power alone will never give us what we need to follow out our resolutions. Millions of people resolve to do (or not do) something in the new year. But then don't keep up with it. There's always excuses. For the Dieter, they don't want to live in regret and think back to say, " I could have eaten that". Excuses are easy. It's stick-to-it-ness that's difficult. I have some Resolutions for y'all to consider. More of a Spiritual realm, which are the most important. No matter it's after new years. You can start now. Drink more water: This is a goal of mine daily. I don't drink much. A glass a day at the most, and I can always tell the effects of it. Water is a necessity to life. Christ is the Living Water. We need to be sponges in the coming year and soak up as much of Him as possible. Loose Weight: This one is certainly one of the more popular resolutions. Hebrews 12.1, "...let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us," We carry much needless baggage around with us. Lay it down at Jesus' feet and carry on in the race of life. Exercise more: 1 Timothy 4:8, "For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come." We need to exercise our faith. Read more: I am a writer, and overall, I hate reading! I read my own blog for the first time the other day. I never read my posts, I just write them. Reading is something I need to get more of. But, the most important book we could read is God's Word. Most people, even those who don't go to church, own a Bible. If not, you can get it on every device instantly and free. How many Christians have read the Bible through and regularly? Rely on the Lord to accomplish these goals. You can't do it alone. The desire to do so isn't enough. It's impossible for us to do, but not for God. Matthew 19:26, " But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible."
