In the past week or so, I have been told on more than one occasion that there is more than one guy that is right for me. That I shouldn’t get discouraged if I don’t find “The One”. After all, there’s lots of guys that’d be good for me. To me, that takes away the responsibility of the decision of marriage, after all, there is more than one person that you’d be good for. Secondly, it attempts to minimize the power of God. As if He can’t bring two people together. I truly believe God made someone... one.... just for me. When He made us, He made us to compliment each other. He didn’t make a bunch of ‘potential mates’ and throw us in the middle of them all and tell us to choose one. He made ONE for each of us. Not many. (Otherwise, what would happen to the one’s we don’t choose???) Maybe there is more than one person that’d be right for us. Everyone wants “Mr. or Mrs. Right”, but instead choose “Mr. or Mrs. Right Now” Often, however, we don’t choose between what’s wrong, and what’s right.... often, it’s between what’s good and what’s best. I don’t know about you, but I want the BEST. How is it not settling if you don’t get the best? God made Eve for Adam. He didn’t make multiple women that were all compatable with Him.... He made one for him. The same, I believe, goes for us. At a Youth Rally this past Friday, Pastor Moore preached an awesome message on Endurance. (He and his wife also sang an awesome song... I was very impressed with his guitar abilities.) Anyway, to quote he said, “The one God has for you is 10 times better than the best you can imagine.” How is it not settling if you don’t marry the one God made you? A lot of girls have a boyfriend. One named Justin. Justin Case. I don’t want a Justin Case, I want a worshiper like David. I want a wise one like Solomon. I want one brave like Johnathan. I want one who obeys God like Abraham. I want one that has faith like Joshua. I want one who has Jesus as his closest friend like Peter. I want one who is willing to suffer for the cause of Christ like Paul. I want the ONE.
